Guest
Do any of you belong to nurseries who have a staggered drop-off/collection time between sessions? My nursery have always had 1 o'clock as the collection and drop-off time for children who are not staying all day. How wonderful it would be to have a short gap between the 2, to spend quality time with parents, and to set-up activities, etc. Has anyone ever been in a nursery who have introduced the staggered times? I can see that this would be fine for new parents, but what about the ones who have always brought or collected their child at that time? Guest
In my preschool children can finish am session at 11:45, or stay another hour until 12:45. Children can do afternoons, starting at 11:15 stay for lunch then pm session, or start at 12:15 for pm session. So yes we have staggered times between 11:15 and 12:45, comings and goings. It may sound confusing, but in fact it means that drop off / collections times are not too busy. Children eat lunch between 11:45 and 12:30, lunch is held in the same room as the entrance door.
