Guest
Hi Christine, I know in our area there are usually lots of courses available at the start of each term on the Early Learning Goals and the Profile this maybe a start. Don't forget to point the member of staff in this direction, im sure he/she will find this site as addictive as we do! Michaela.
Guest
Hi Christine, As Michaela says, a course would be useful as would the following 'core' documents: 'Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage'; 'Foundation Stage Profile-handbook', 'Playing with Sounds', Literacy/Numeracy frameworks (look for new version published this year if poss), If you do the Jolly Phonics approach to phonics the handbook would be useful. The QCA website, The dfes standards site and the surestart website will also help a newcomer to the Foundation Stage as well as this site of course!
