Guest
Do you still use the sound sheets..........I like the children to take them home for parents to see but increasingly see no value for the children in terms of an activity....I do a rainbow letter on the reverse to reinforce formation and ask the children to finish the rest at home if they want. Guest
We tend to use them as a short group activity, asking the children to use froggy grip to practicecolouring a small area of the picture. We do rainbow letter/writing over yellow pen of the sound and also their name too for those that have some pencil control. I don't use the sheet to practice writing those tiny letters. Spare copies of the sheet are available and some children like to choose to colour/write on them too.

Guest
We send them home in a book with handwriting underneath to practice. They are then used throughout the year as a visual reminder of phonemes and graphemes both at home and school. Some children love colouring them in as homework - but we don't push it. Marion
We shrunk them down on the photocopier and stick them in the sound books so parents have the actions to hand as we found most parents binned them as soon as the children took them home.
