Guest Posted December 29, 2003 Posted December 29, 2003 Try linking your PE to your topic if possible - for example, our theme for next half term is Fantasy and Fairy Tales, so our Physical Development/PE planning includes gymnastic type floor and apparatus work linked to The Gingerbread Man, 3 Billy Goats Gruff and Jack and the Beanstalk - lots of travelling, climbing, balancing and plenty of opportunity for position work- under the bridge, up the beanstalk, over the meadow etc. Probably not helpful but we have found this is the best way to plan for specific PE lessons - we do most of our PD work outside - again linked to themes or topics. It's easy to build on skills this way.
bubblejack Posted December 29, 2003 Posted December 29, 2003 How about the Bear Hunt. At the end of the session our pre-schoolers love to complete the assault course going ,over, under and through the equipment.
