Guest Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Our topic this term is people who help us. On Monday we have a playworker from the childrens ward coming into talk to the children about how she helps children when they go into hospital. However i am really stumpted for ideas for activites to follow this up. I would be very grateful for any suggestions. Lola
Tigger Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Every year we have the play therapist come into school and have found it to be really successful. We prepare for her visit by discussing hospitals with the children and changing the roleplay area into a hospital. Whilst she is with us she plays in the roleplay area which the children all really respond to. This is part of a program devised by the local hospital and she brings a short video and books, puzzles etc. We follow this up all throughout the week with various activities conected to a myself topic. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
