Guest Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Hi, can anyone help please. We are a private day nursery and staff have had regular working hours for quite a while now, however, we now have to change these working hours as the ratios during the day have changed and this is causing a few problems. Do we have to give a certain amount of notice to the staff before the changes can take place? We have given three weeks notice but are not sure if this is sufficient. Thanks teenytiny Quote
Guest Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 Hi Teenytiny. Does it not say anything about changes to staff hours in staff contracts? Our contracts state (and this is off the top of my head!) that staff are required to work the hours necessary to ensure correct ratios are maintained. However, we do give them 4 weeks notice if we are going to initiate any changes to working hours, as this gives them time to adjust to the change, plus make any personal changes for example, childcare/picking children up from school if necessary. Guest Posted April 11, 2006 Posted April 11, 2006 There is a topic here about staff hours etc. There is a link to the DTI website with some useful information. Linda Quote
