We have a dedicated, parent lead committee, a small team of passionate and engaged staff, and inspirational children. The preschool radiates a passion for learning through play from the moment you walk in the door. We are located in the village of Felmersham, in rural north Bedfordshire. We are currently looking for an inspirational Pre-school Leader/Manager, who will have the opportunity to grow, lead and continuously improve themselves, the preschool and the education of our children. The role will be term time only, approximately 26 hours per week (negotiable), and salary is dependent on experience. Duties include: Managing the performance development and review of all EYFS staff. Organising and managing day-to-day procedures to enable the smooth running of the preschool, ensuring OFSTED requirements are fully met. Planning, alongside the EYFS team, enriched activities, assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress and attainment of our children. Liaising effectively with the management committee to ensure policies and procedures and implemented. Ensuring that the EYFS curriculum is implemented. Promoting positive relationships with parents, children and colleagues. Overseeing Health & Safety and Safeguarding. Overseeing and maintaining finances with the teams bookkeeper/administrator, including (but not exhaustively) budgets, forecasting, making payments, running payroll. Marketing and promoting the preschool in the community and surrounding area. Inspire and influence others to believe in the fundamental importance of building strong relationships with parents, other settings and organisations, and the wider community so that education in young people’s lives are improved. Strong SEND knowledge is desirable. Qualifications Completion of a CWDC recognised full and relevant Level 3 Childcare qualification, e.g. Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young People’s Workforce, NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development. A minimum of two years experience working in an Early Years setting, or equivalent. Completion of Safeguarding Foundation course (Group 3) within last 3 years is desirable. First aid qualification is desirable. The right candidate for this role will be passionate about early years education and childcare, with a strong belief in the value of learning through play. You will have a strong ability to inspire others, great communication skills and a drive to develop and improve the setting. You will be required to produce evidence of your qualifications and will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure. This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore you will be required to declare any convictions that you may have, including those that would otherwise be regarded as spent.
