I have made my permissions so parents are unable to download pictures but it appears this is not stopping them.

One if my staff memeber was there when her husband logged on and she watched him navigate tapestry.

It seems he was able to save the photo to his iPad. How can we stop this? What permissions am i meant to turn on and off. How can I keep images of other children safe if all parents can save the pictures to their device and then share them.

Hi tinytowntadley,

What the permission on Tapestry, 'Download media', does if not permitted, is to remove a download button for relatives on observations which allows them to download photos and videos. This button is shown underneath any media within an observation on the browser version of Tapestry. Please see the screenshot below to see what this looks like.

So, if this permission is not enabled it just means this button will not be shown. I'm afraid there is no way of actually stopping relatives from copying media from Tapestry, so I would suggest this is something you consider in your learning journal policy with parents.

You can find some resources that might help you with this from inside the forum, to find these you just need to go to the resources tab -> scroll down the page and at the bottom click on the 'view all' resources, then on the right hand side in you can find a variety of resources in the 'Tapestry' section.

I hope this helps.

Best wishes,

Emily

Hi Emily

Thank you for your reply.

I have made it so parents are "not permitted" to download media but the guinea pig parent was still able to do so? What am I doing wrong????

Thanks

Sorry Emily just had a chat with the parent and what they actually did was hold down button on mobile phone and it gave them "save picture" option. They were then able to save the image.

ideas?
