Claire_Spink Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 We are trying to use a kindle fire when using tapestry but are unable to upload videos. They are always too big even if under 3 minutes long. We have previously used ipads and iPods but wanted a cheaper option so that all staff can have their own device. Has anyone used kindle fires or can anyone recommend another device? Quote
FSFRebecca Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Tapestry doesn't work on the Kindle fire - It works very well on the Amazon fire Quote
Claire_Spink Posted September 23, 2016 Author Posted September 23, 2016 Is there a difference? Our device says amazon on the back?? Does an amazon fire upload videos of more than a minute long? Quote
FSFRebecca Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 If it says Amazon, it's an Amazon fire - not Kindle, the Kindle is a book reader not a tablet computer. In terms of videos - if you are taking your videos from outside the app (and then uploading them separately to an observation) then a minute is too long as the video will too high resolution. However, if you are taking the videos within the app then the resolution will be lower and one minute will be fine, two minutes will be fine ... three minutes might be pushing it a little! Quote
Claire_Spink Posted September 25, 2016 Author Posted September 25, 2016 Thanks. I realise I do not have a kindle but a Fire HD 6(4th generation) I can take 3 minute observations in the app which is great. I especially like the fact that it tells me when time is up and prompts me to start another video if I want to. However, I now have another problem I cannot always save changes I make to the observations. I edited 4 observations 2 of them were trying to save for a long time. They only had one photo on. The changes were assessments and notes. We have 2 Fire HD 6(4th generation) and want to buy more tablets so all staff have one. Is this problem something I'm doing wrong or perhaps because its an older version?? Would we be better getting the Amazon Fire 7. Cannot afford to waste more money or time. Will this have the same problem? Thanks Quote
Claire_Spink Posted October 5, 2016 Author Posted October 5, 2016 we'd like to buy more amazon fire 6inch rather than 7inch. Can you clarify if this is a good idea. See previous post. Thanks Quote
