melc
Hi, I've just started putting a finger gym box together and I've been collecting things like tweezers, pippettes, pegs etc. I would like to put rhymes and action rhymes/activities in there for finger gym so TA's can just pick up and go. Has anyone got any good examples to include? Mel C
Susan
Tommy Thumb Two fat Gentlemen Incy Wincy Spider Any rhymes where children are specifically manipulating their fingers. Sure I'll think of some more, although I used to try and avoid number rhymes, as I tried to start my literacy sessions with a rhyme like this! Guest
Two little dickie birds Here's the church, here's the steeple... Don't know what this one's called, but my children request it as 'fingers all up'
Guest
I've just remembered! Open them, shut them Open them, shut them Give a little clap (whisper) Open them, shut them Open them, shut them Put them in your lap (back to normal) Creep them, creep them Creep them, creep them Right up to your chin Open up your little mouth But do not put them in. If you don't know that one, the creeping is a bit like for Incy Wincy, and when you get to the last line the children fall about laughing as they have to quickly whip their hands away from their mouth and put them behind their back.
