apple
Hi could anyone tell me if they are using a dual purpose water/sand tray. Am about to purchase one and would love to know if people could recommend one (Space is tight so need a combi one) I would ideally like one that is a little more exciting than the standard box like tray. I saw a water tray in a couple of the catalogues (i think it was called 'mississippi' ) it had a cascade and lock of all things! cheers for you help Ps sorry that this post might come up twuce as i tied before to post and it nver appeared

Guest
Liza, Personally speaking, if your space is tight then an ordinary tray could actually be more versatile for you than one that already has a certain type of play in mind. I would certainly look for one that has a shelf around the edges-not sloping ones. This enhances what the children can do. Lynda
michaelle
I inherited these deep plastic trays which were used to transport the sterile packages used for heart transplants apparently - I got about 6 given to me and they are so useful. apple
Funnily enough Michaella one of our regular suppply teacher's husband is a heart surgeon so I shall see what I can scrounge Thanks for that Lynh56, but I really do want one with a tap so I save time and my back! when emptying. Plus we have some spare money in the budget for this very thing so I do want something a bit different...hense me asking in the first place
Guest
Sorry Liza, Didn't make myself clear. I was referring to purpose made sand/water trays. I have a new Oasis sand/water tray and it is very versatile and a good size if your space is limited. However the tap at the bottom is useless, as its not really at the very bottom !!!!!! . The deep trays you mention sound brilliant Michaelle- wish I knew a heart surgeon too ! Lynda
