apple
we have a range of things including conkers, shells, small logs and wood discs for counting, a range of ribbons of different lengths for measuring, sand timers, egg timers, digital timers, clocks, etc a set of weighing scales, socks for sorting into pairs...is this the sort of thing you meant by 'real' objects? To be honest we try to steer clear of the usual compare bears & other such edu catalogue resources.

fimbo
we use the mini rice krispie / cocoa pops /cornflake boxes from the multipacks - usually have 3 the same, each of them weigh different -a light , a medium and a heavy one. They all look the same -but feel and weigh different .
