Im looking into doing the foundation degree at Alton college, they offer an option to start in year 2 if you can prove APL, has anyone done this and what experience did you need to miss the first year??

My students on the FdA could apply to have prior learning accredited if it was a course run by an accredited organisation. For example one student had completed a leadership and management module from CACHE and this was mapped against the module with similar aims on the FdA. I think it does differ from course to course partly due to the affiliations they have and the content of their modules, but I think also it is more to do with training and courses completed rather than experience gained.
