Observation - Doubling

Can anyone help I have an NQT obs tom and am doing doubling

 

I am doing small group activity while the others do CI on doubling activities set up - I have Noahs ark and am going to sing the song with them and see if they can take turns to put in the correct number of animals if I sing, 2 by 2 then 3 by 3 etc. but not sure where to go from there? I am struggling as not done doubles before any suggestions?

I need to give them a ci challenge to continue the learning following the activity something exciting - any ideas?? xxxxx

My children have loved rolling dice and doubling that many number of spots on a ladybird (paper plate ones), there are lots of playdough doubling mats on line, we have done things likie doubling the amount of coins a pirate has, or beads on a mermaids necklace to link in with under the sea. There is a lovely noahs ark song on sing up "the animals went in two by two hoorah!" what is your role play area, because you could ask for doubles of things i,e: Can I have double the number of cakes?
