Guest Wolfie Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Has anyone got a good handout for parents on the stages of drawing/mark making in early childhood that they care to share? I need something visual to help me explain to a parent that their child needs to go through lots of earlier stages before starting to represent objects!
SueFinanceManager Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Hi Wolfie There is some useful stuff in this FSF article Aspects of Art: Drawing And here The Importance of Young Children's Mark-making: Beginnings, Context, Meaning and Mathematics Hope they help 1
Guest Wolfie Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Thank you Sue - that's great! I used to have a very clear A4 table with the different stages, starting with random scribbling, but can't find it ANYWHERE! Little boy is at that stage and Mum wants me to "teach" him to represent things NOW!
