Guest Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Hi I'm having a hospitalrole play area in my Year 1 Class.. i know it provides opportunities for learning (writing appointment cards etc etc) However i want to have some challenges for them too (First time in ks1 so still getting to grips with learning challenges in Cont. Provision) Any suggestions? Thanks
Guest Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 You could have some syringes and coloured water and they could measure 'medicine' using them. Have challenge cards with different amounts that they need to measure, some with more than one full syringe so they have to work out that they'll need to do 2 measurements added together... does that make sense? I'm not sure it does haha! I know what I mean! You'd probably have to have a talk with them about how this isn't real medicine and if it was they wouldn't be allowed to play with it etc. before letting them loose on it but it's not really any different to them using an oven in the home corner is it?
