Susan
How are the books---non fiction----organised in your school library. Do you use a dewey classification or colour coding system or something different? Is it easy for the children and staff to access and to maintain? I have the unenviable job of sorting this, we have recently revamped our library and it is a really lovely, an enlarged cosy book corner in lots of respects but I need to get the books sorted in a friendly way! Any thoughts much appreciated!
Guest
Hi we have a really nice library at our school run by ta who went on a course for the dewey system. Even my nursery children can access it. They all have a library number and use a bar code to take out and return books, which they think is great as one of them is appointed librarian each week. I think it is a valuable resource as so many of our children have never seen the inside of a library. Good luck
Marion
Our library was organised using the Dewey system (DH went on a course) until a well meaning person moved everything still it should be easy to put back when someone has time.
Susan
Is there anywhere I can find an easy to follow Dewey code online? School library asociation seem to have something, but we are not members. No money for Junior Librarian systems.
