I need to do a small piece on this and how it supports the development of children.

 

I have written the obvious,, informs planning, gives holistic approach, builds up personal profile etc.

 

Any more ideas anyone?

Good for chdn to look back and talk about what they did and which pieces of work/activity they think they did well - then you can see what they think good work/effort looks like and begin to understand what they think is important. In previous school we used the collected evidence every half term so chdn could look back and 'self-review' and say what was good about the piece they liked the best.

Hi

At the end of June I show the children their profile I use Cheshires one, fill it with photos and pieces of work and they enjoy remembering what we did. I then ask them ? about their favs etc and I fill in a questionnaire and put on front of the profile

Justifies what you do to others e.g. parents, collegues (have found it particularily useful when I have been questioned about children just 'playing' all day!)
