Does anyone have any good ideas of ways to include writing in a Hair Salon role play area? I have a lesson observation coming up with a focus on writing and it co-incides with a topic on Hair!

Does anyone have any good ideas of ways to include writing in a Hair Salon role play area? I have a lesson observation coming up with a focus on writing and it co-incides with a topic on Hair!

 

You could have words displayed eg. open, closed, different colours, hair lengths(short, long) which older children may wish to attempt to write/copy, opportunities for writing cheques and receipts, an appointments diary. Are any of these helpful?

How about putting some hair magazines into your salon, then having some blank books in your writing area for children to make into magazines? Also maybe a notepad by the telephone?
