Guest Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 Hi its me again thanks to everyone for previous help How can environmental, physical, cultural and genetic factors enhance/impair sensory development. Mind has gone completely blank!
Beau Posted March 22, 2005 Posted March 22, 2005 Environmental - think about the effect living in a block of flats might have as opposed to living in a house with a large garden. What other environmental factors can you think of? Physical - many people were getting very excited at the prospect of snow the other week as they live in areas where they children have never had snow. What about a child who has never visited the seaside? Cultural - some boys may not be allowed to help with household chores at home or children may not be allowed to get dirty. Parents may not be able to buy their child lots of toys etc so they may never have had playdough or paints say. Genetic - think about children with sensory impairments and the effect this has on their development.
