Guest
Hello, I am being observed teaching ICT next week and would really appreciate some help! My topic at the moment is Dinosaurs and I thought I would 'dress' the beebot up as a dinosaur and get the children to help make a playmat. The children have used the beebots before and can program the beebot using 1 step commands (forwards, back, turn etc). Some of my more able children can program 2 or 3 step commands (i.e forwards2, turn, forwards4- all in one go). My dilemma is, how do I move the more able children on? I am thinking thay could maybe record in some way or maybe give the directions for a friend to follow. Your advise would be much appreciated. Susan
Can they write their program down, using numbers and the symbols on the beebot?
Guest
What about working in pairs to instruct each other on how to program the beebot? Recording their instructions would be good, and maybe one child could predict the route and record it, then a partner programs it and they test each other's routes?? Sounds like a really fun lesson - good luck!
