green hippo
Hi, Just wondered if others put collage-type resources outdoors? We have the painting easel, paper, lots of different mark-making equipment, scissors, tape etc but we're wondering whether it would be worth putting the collage-type resources such as small sticky shapes, buttons, sequins etc as we thinking that they are just going to end up blowing everywhere and getting wasted? We also try to make our outdoors have a different opportunities to indoors - any ideas? Thanks Green hippo x
Guest
Our art teacher helped the children in the Reception class to make a collage of Elmer the Elephant on the floor out in the playarea, using lots of different coloured pieces of material. The children then photographed it and the photo was laminated and put up in the outdoor area to remind them of what they had done. It was lovely to see such a large piece of art work and it was left out until the end of the day so the parents could see it before being removed. Magenta
We put out a builder's tray with pots of different resources - bark, shells, stones, twigs, bottle tops etc. we also put out frames - the children then make their pictures and take a photo of it. We can make sure that feathers, ribbon etc. are only put out when its not windy!
