Guest
Hi all, just started to introduce some of my reception class to guided reading. But was looking for some kind of advice on how you record and assess each child. Am i right in thinking that we should have some kind of ticky box as to show which word each child self corrected, or used picture cue to help. I'm listening to mine at the mo but not really recording anything systematically. Any help and advice would be really appreciated xxxxxx thanks heaps xxxx Misspink
millhill
If you're in a reception class how about using the ELGs as a focus each time you do guided reading? For example, during one reading session you might be focussing on whether children 'Read a range of familiar and common words and simple sentences independently'. Then have a comments box next to each child's name to record what words they recognised independently.
