Guest Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Hi We have used eyeprofile for the last year and it was fine. Then our LA data team cam out to update our version to the new one. "It's no problem" they said "the data you already have on the children just transfers straight over" Great! I thought. However, when I opened the data in the new version all the assessments I made on the children I had before september simply read as the chidlren achieving those points in september. We are a bit of a strange setting. We have no nursery but we have pre 5 - take children in the term after they are 4 so some children have time with us before 'reception year'. In the past we used eyeprofile and recorded the points the children acieved half termly. On the new vesion you record the month the points are achieved and there are only 12 months to record. We have some children with us for 5 terms and some only for 3. yet all these children are in reception. We are due OFSTED lke yesterday and I am now beginning to panic as we had used the eye profile data to prove children's progress, however now it looks like the chidlren did nothing before september! We have paper records that we hilight children's achievement on but they are not as easy to present to inspectors (or headteachers!) as the graphs and data from eprofile. HELP!
Susan Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 I think this will be because the EYP is designed for the summative/formative assessment during the school year that the children have their 5th birthday and you are entering data before that, so in the new version it will appear as on entry attainment? Is there no way you can continue to use the old version? We have a member, John Russell, who may be able to help you if you send him a PM.
Guest Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Hi We have had a similar problem with the eye profile as our technicians loaded version 3 onto our computers in September and then we realised there was a new version (3.1) just before xmas! When we transferred the data it messed up when we had awarded profile points as 3.1 records it as months instead of pre-entry, aut A, aut B etc. It would have been a mommoth task to go through and check 60 children's data so we spoke to link2ict and they said we could continue to use version 3 and we would still be able to send our data in June. Hope this helps.
