Hi everyone

I was wondering if someone could help me?

I have to write up an assessment plan for the age group 6-12 months.

And I have to use a treasure basket.

Can anyone give me any information how I would go about doing this?

I would be grateful for any information.

Hi,

Is it a kind of ticklist assessment sheet you have to design for use with the treasure basket?

If so, you'll need to come up with a list of statements that you will use during the activity to make your judgements. Ones that spring to my mind are:

The child

* turns eyes towards the speaker at onset of conversation

* watches speaker during longer conversations

* shows interest in the basket

* is motivated to hold and play with the contents of the basket

* uses all senses to explore the contents

* makes a range of speech sounds, sometimes in response to adult

* attempts to repeat speech sounds

* interacts with other children

 

I'd also make a separate box to record a favoured toy, and details of how the child investigated it,eg banged it on the floor, with another toy, threw it, put it in mouth repeatedly, etc.

I got the assessment plan finished and I think it is ok I will know better when the assessor comes to assess me on it.
