Staff Issues Studying Towards Level 2

Recommended Posts

Posted

hello , i was just wondering if anyone could help me, I have a member of staff who is currently studying towards her level 2 nvq, in the past she has be allowed to do everything a level 3 does, a new member of staff has questioned if she is allowed to change nappies, be left in the room by herself ..etc... the previous manager allowed it.

As I am new in my role, not new to the setting I want to make sure everything is running by the book. any feed back would be fantastic as I hate not knowing the answers!!!

thanks :o

just a quick reply:

I would say changing nappies is fine - I have minimum level 2 qualification for all key people and they should ideally change their key children's nappies.

no-one should be left in a room on thier own whether level 2 or 3 should they?

the big difference is in responsibility for other staff - you can't leave a level 2 supervising other staff.
