fimbo
*Why it is important to involve children and young people in assessing and managing risks according to their stage of development. (including examples of methods) it allows the child to develop new skills, helps develop independence, a sense of freedom, helps them learn how to make decisions, gives them a sense of achievement and increased self esteem. it could also help with social skills, helps them to work together with others. the risks associated with lifting and carrying children there would be risks to you and the child - there would be the risk of dropping the child or injuring them if they are not lifted and carried correctly -and the risk of injury to yourself also, you should ensure you follow the manual handling rules - let your legs take the strain and not your back bend at the knees -not your back etc etc
