Foundation Stage Numeracy Scheme?

Hi, just trying to decide on a new numeracy scheme for reception. Any comments?

Have you looked at the BEAM resoureces.

 

I used to like the Foundation Stage Abacus scheme but there are new things out there and I'm not up to date.

Abacus now have abacus evolve-its a bit prescriptive but good to dip into

I also use the Cumbria site for ideas [mentioned in many other replies try search] and also Numicon

There are also some lovely books that lead to number problems such as Alex's Bed, Rosie's Ice Cream i have a list somewhere on good books for maths if you like I can post it here.

our reception teachers use Abacus and seem to like it. Lots of ideas for practical activities and they choose the unit that goes with their topic-eg when doing transport they do unit on shape.
