Posy Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 We sing (to the tune of Down in the jungle) Down in the stable one starry night 3 tired kings followed a light There was Mary There was Joseph and a mager full of hay Everyone was there on that first Christmas day Hi ti a boogie woogie woogie Hi ti a boogie woogie woogie Hi ti a boogie woogie woogie Everyone was there on that first Christmas day and Hickory Dickory Dock The shepherds were watching their sheep The angels came down And sent them to town Where they found Baby Jesus asleep oh what fun! Posy Posted November 15, 2005 Posted November 15, 2005 Well thank you Suzanne If you'd care to catch the live performance I can pretty much guarantee that I'll be belting them out at our Nativity, surrounded by silent children. Barb
Guest Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 Oh Barb I hear you!! I'm a bit worried about my solo!! I've had b***hing mothers in the playground saying what a waste of time it is to do a Nativity grrrrrrrr. Not saying it to the staff tho! Thanks for these songs ladies - just what I've been looking for. I'll add them to my little resource book on my site if that's OK.
Guest Posted November 16, 2005 Posted November 16, 2005 we get those mothers too pandamonium, I was asked by one parent if her child could NOT be an angel, but still in full costume of another kind, and can she have a speaking part - the child is only 2 years old! i know were expected to perform wonders in early years, but not sure the children are quite ready for this. we have around 50-60 parents and families come to watch, as well as all 180 primary school children and teachers and TA's ect. as soon as the curtain opens, all the children either go into shock or start shouting to their mum they have just spotted in the crowd. anyway, i will still do it, even though i dont get any thanks from parents (just moans about their child not being the angel, not speaking, didnt sing loud enough, etc - you know how it goes. the school thank me though, so thats nice.
