Creative Practitioner Needed In Hastings

A creative practitioner required who is experienced in Early

Years practice and has a good understanding of the Reggio Emilia approach.

 

Hastings and St Leonards Children Centres have recently become a Creative Partnerships' Change setting and are looking to enhance the opportunities for creativity throughout our centres and settings, with the overall aim of developing the creativity and confidence of our children. We are looking towards the Reggio Emilia holistic approach to early years education, involving parents, the community and artists. Starting at Greenway Nursery in Hastings Town Children Centre, we are looking for artists/practitioners, whom have a good understanding of the Reggio Emilia ethos to work closely with the children and early years practitioners at the setting. Once good practice is established there, we want other children's centres from Hastings and St. Leonards to come and learn from this example.

 

Our centre is a warm and caring place where we strive to put our children first. The successful applicant would be:

 

• Experienced in working in early years settings, and have an understanding of the EYFS.

• Familiar with, and have a good understanding in the methods espoused by Reggio Emilia

• Keen to learn how the Reggio Emilia approach can be embedded within the Early Years Foundation Stage.

• Supportive of the ethos of our setting

• Willing to show by example, and lead training for staff

• Flexible, well organized, patient and have a sense of humour

 

The fee is £200 a day including expenses and there will be approximately 25 days work expected between February and July 2009. A separate materials/production budget will be agreed with the centre at the planning stage.

Deadline for application is Tuesday 6th January 2009.

Interviews will take place on Wednesday 14th January from 9 am.

 

As part of the interview applicants would be expected to demonstrate a short session with our children aged 3-4.
