Guest
Hi, I seem to be geting into a pickle over this and would love some clarity Here goes.. When should we ne starting the early years profile? Should it be in the reception year or should it be when the child reaches 3? Are we hightlighting the areas od development which the child has achieved ( backed up by observations)? How do others do this? I am really am getting confussed and want to do what is best all round. Are there any examples of the profiles anywhere? Thanks Sunshine
Susan
The profile document itself is the statutory assessment for the reception year. Its obviously good practise to have some form of assessment recording for the younger children and but you dont use the profile itself unless your LEA has something for nursery which would feed into it.
