TORO Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Dear All, I need to appoint rooomleaders and deputy manager, can i employ someone with NVQ level 2 with maybe 3 -4 years experience and working towards level 3. I have a qualified teacher working for me at present, she is working in the nursery only to gain experience, to get a job in school, which we both agreed on. it is just that my NVQ staff are much better that her, and she has a degree. Would ofsted allow experienced level 2 working towards level 3 as DMS, Roomleaders? Thanks Quote
Guest Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Hi - if you look in the EYFS welfare requirements there is a section all about what qualifications each level of staff need to be - would that be any help Dizz Quote
Guest Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 I know that in the past they have said yes to what you are suggesting as long as they are working towards a L3 and will clearly complete it - hope that helps. If in doubt though ring Ofsted to clarify Quote
Guest Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 We had a simular questions last year and we were told by Ofsted that if the best or only applicant only had level 2 but was working towards l3 this would be ok. They reccommended a letter from their college tutor and/or development officer to say that they are working towards the l3 and an approx date when they should be completing. HTH Quote
