If it is a local authority nursery then it will be 3 years. some may have private nurseries/childrens centres attached which take younger children. Quote
Guest Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 At our school it is the next available term after they are three. unfortunately if your child is three on the 1st of janruary you have to wait untill september, but if your child is 3 on the 31 august they can get a place in sept, if there are places. Guest Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Could I add here please that some nurseries are now taking funded two year olds......... we aren't (thankfully!) But as I am writing this I wonder if I only know this as half of our nursery is privately run........ maybe the 2 year old funding is only for private places????? In our nursery we take the child, in the term after the child is three. If we have places this can mean some children getting 4 / 5 terms with us! A big plus for some in the area we serve. Quote

I take it that you mean the nursery is PART of the school, not a private nursery on school premises? If so, the answer is 3 years. If it's a private one, then the minimum age can be lower, depending on registration conditions. Quote
