Guest
Hi, really feeling out of my depth, hopefully someone can help. I am new to Pre Schools and have only ever completed one funding claim form which didn't seem too complicated. I am now on my second funding form (actually managed to survive a whole term!) and not sure about one of the questions on the form. I am being asked to write down how many funded sessions (i.e. vacancies) are currently available and how many non-funded childcare places are available. I am sure I am missing something really obvious but am not sure how I work this out. I know how many more children I can accept each day but how do I know whether they will be old enough for funding or not. If anyone can help (and probably point out the obvious to a newbie) I would very much appreciate it. Thanks.
Guest
This is always a nightmare and I think you will find it varies from county to county, and in our case, setting to setting. I recommend you give your development officer at the LEA a call on monday. Good luck!

I have been meaning to call them all week but always seem to get round to it when they are closed! Just like this morning.
Guest
They may also think you might keep spaces available for under 3's, so this would affect your figures, but surely in the real world, if you have vacancies, you try and fill them with any child, whatever age. Peggy That's exactly what I thought. I am glad I am not missing the obvious. Thanks for your reply Peggy. Hopefully I will find out on Monday. Have a good w/e.
