Self Registration And Snack Area

can anyone share with me good ideas for self reg for nursery, 39 AM children, 20 PM children. would you put them into groups? I will take their photo in sept so they can recognise their name but just wondering of any nice ideas?

In their key person groups they are given a group colour, red, blue group etc. The children then have two name cards in that colour, when they come in each day their names are hanging on the welcome board, the children select their name, they then place one name in their personal box so they can put away any work they have done during the session, the other is placed onto the 'who is here today ' board, self registration. A member of staff also ticks the register as each child comes in. At snack time the children will collect their name from the board and hand it to the member of staff who is doing snack. when all names have been removed we know everyone has had snack. At end of session when children in key person groups the children are given their boxes with any work in.

just a small point about registers...............Ofsted want to see exact times of arrivals and departures in our registers now, a tick in and out won't be enough.
