Areas In The Reception Class

Hi all

 

I have just moved to a new school and wondered if you could let me have your ideas on What objectives you display in areas around the room. I have always used very general guidance, with specific tasks being given verbally. My new colleague seems to be doing objectives for each area to display weekly.

 

What do others do?

Hello

We make cards which relate to the objective for that activity, and place them in the areas. We use child friendly language Eg. "Can you fix and fasten pieces together to make a bat?" "Can you use the dough to make a birthday cake with candles? How many will you use?" etc.

We display continuous provision learning opportunities which are permanent.
