Fantastic Tv Programme On Channel 5

Wow, I have just sat down and watched 2 episodes of 'How to make your child brilliant' on Channel 5. Has anyone else seen them? I picked up a few really good tips along the way!

It was a brilliant programme where an expert in education went into schools to find children (aged 8-11 years) who didn't seem to be excelling in the school 'mould' but who were demonstrating real gifts that she felt she could bring on with brain exercises. After a series of practical tests and exercises she finally chose which child to focus on and work with. In the first programme it was a boy who she felt was a real entrepreneur and she set him the challenge of designing, building and then putting a sales pitch to a toy company! It was really powerful stuff and appeared to make a real difference, not only to the child, but the parents in the way they parented, and according to the teachers had a positive impact on his performance in the class. The 2nd programme focussed on a child with real creative flair who struggled to concentrate and plan. He had to design clothes for a fashion show which he also had to plan and put on! Again he did really well, even with an over attentive mum (bless her!).

There's another programme at 9pm next thursday on channel 5 - definitely worth a watch.
