Food And Farming

Hi all

I am just after a few ideas....

A colleague wants to do the topic of food and farming with our recepetion classes in the summer term..... a long way off I know...

However...

Have any of you wise people done this as a topic?

Can you suggest any good activities?

Any good books?

Just to give me a nudge in the right direction... and save us looking at a blank piece of paper.

We are aware that it is the year of food and farming and of the related website for KS1+.

For anyone that is interested.

Thanks in advance.

There is a big book called 'I love animals' which is good (sorry can't remember author); There's always 'Old MacDonald had a farm' which could act as a stimulus along with, 'the farmer's in his den'-hope this helps

Hi!

We're doing a breakfast club for a week next week because its also F+F week next week. We're having a different focus each morning with a bit of 'Wake and shake'/healthy eating activities. Mon we're focussing on cererals Where they come from etc, Tues we're focussing on toast and toast like things, Wed is on eggs and egg products etc, Thurs is on yoghurts and smoothies and Friday is BACON BUTTY day!

Don't know is this is any use...

Good luck
