Gill_Oliver Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Hi, I'm struggling with part of this assingnment and wondered if anyone can steer me in the right direction. I need to link heuristic play to one key theorist and quote a simple theory at the end. I was thinking of Jean Piaget’s stages of cognitive development. The sensory-motor stage (Piaget) is evident in the problem solving skills of toddlers as they manipulate objects using their senses. Not sure if that fits in or not or if anyone can point me in a better direction. Many Thanks Gill p.s. is it sensori-motor stage or sensory motor stage as i have seen it written in both ways.
Marion Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 There is a definite link with Piaget and I think there is a link with Vygotsky and "Inner Speech" the link between language and thought

Marion Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 She coined the term "heuristic play" so has to be included.
Gill_Oliver Posted December 30, 2007 Author Posted December 30, 2007 Thanks for all your help I think I have it sorted now.
