Elfy
we are doing traditional tales, which we felt was quite broad so that we can follow the children's interests. Elfy x
Guest
[Hi, We do Nursery Rhymes and Traditonal tales in the Autumn term. the children enjoy it because they are comfortable with these ideas and means you can easily build on what they already know and interest them. We have a 'Nursery Rhymes and Story' Role Play Area. Lots of dressing up clothes, building blocks to build Humpty's wall, make spiders to put down the drain pipe, make mice and a large clock to act out Hickory Dickory Dock etc... Hope that helps Claire
Guest
we follow a two year programme between ourselves and traditional tales. to stop me going stale and relying on same stimulus, displays ideas etc I often will try looking at it through a different slant. I have used nursery rhymes as a way to explore ourselves. This worked very well. I have also used action rhymes or counting rhymes as the way to link. My planning doesn't change in the sense that I have the same objectives just the way I introduce it.
