EmilyTapestrySupport
The Developmental Milestone Summative Assessment screens on Tapestry were designed to show you where a child is currently working, as well as their scores for previous terms, to show you how they are progressing. You can see these as an individual view, and a group view. I'll show you both in this tutorial. To access these screens you just need to click on the 'Tracking' tab at the top of the page (1), then making sure you are on the 'DM' section (2), click on either the 'Individual View' or 'Group View' buttons in the 'Summative Assessment section (3). I'm going to start by looking at the Individual View. To skip to the section on the group view click here. Individual View Once you arrive on the Individual View screen, you just need to select a child you want to view (1). You then have the options to choose which year/period you view (2) and you can also narrow down the information you see by age range (3) and developmental area (4). After making your selection above, you will then be able to see a chart which will be broken down by age range (1) and developmental area (2). Underneath each developmental area heading you will be able to see the milestones (3). For each milestone you can see any refinements for previous terms (4) as well as the most recent refinement (5) for that milestone. You can check when an assessment was added for a milestone by clicking on the 'Show Details' button at the end of the row (6). When you click on the 'Show Details' button you will then get a pop-up box which will show you the assessment (1) and the observation it was made in (2). On this Individual View screen it is possible to manually input assessments if you wanted to change a refinement or fill in any gaps you have. To do this you just need to click on the refinement drop-down and select one from the list (1). Once you're done just remember to click on the 'Save Changes' button (2). When you manually input an assessment on this screen, an observation will be generated for this assessment, the status of this observation will be set to 'In journal but only for staff', which means the child's relatives will not be able to see it. When you click on the 'Save Changes' button after manually inputting assessments, you will then see a message appear notifying you of this (1). If you want to edit this observation you just need to click on the 'Edit' button (2). Once you refresh the page, this message will disappear but don't worry as you can edit this observation at any time from the main observations page. The last thing to note on here is the different colours that you might see within the chart. These are there to represent the different refinements, sometimes (1), yes (2) and no (3). At the top of the chart you can see a key showing you which each colour represents (4). You can export this page at any point as a CSV or PDF using the buttons in the top right-hand corner (5). Now let's move on to the Group View. Group View You can access this from the Individual View screen by clicking on the 'Group' tab at the top or from the Tracking tab as I showed you at the beginning of the tutorial. Once on the Group View screen you can select the year/period you want to view (1) as well as the age range (2) and developmental area (3). You can also narrow down the children you see here by group from the 'Children' filters (4). After you have made your selection here, you can then see a chart which will show you the age range you have selected (1) and this will then be broken down by each developmental area (2). Within each area you will be able to see the milestones listed (3). In the chart you can see the child's most recent refinement for a milestone (4), within the period you have selected. If they haven't been assessed, this will just show up as dash (5). At the top of the chart you can again see a key to show you which refinements each colour is represented by (6) and you can see the buttons to export the screen as a CSV and PDF (7). If you click on one of the assessments in the chart, you will be presented with the same pop-up you saw when clicking on the 'Show Details' button on the Individual View screen.
