Deleting or editing an observation, including comments.

It is not possible for relatives to delete any observations from Tapestry, including the ones they have added, so, if you are a relative, please make sure you are happy with it before you post it.

If you do want to delete it after you have posted it, you will need to get in contact with your child's Setting directly.

You can however, delete a comment you have made on an observation. To do this you just need to press the red 'X' button in the top right hand corner of the appropriate comment.

Being able to edit your own observations is something that the setting who set you up with your Tapestry account can choose to give you permission to do. If they have given you permission then you’ll be able to see an ‘Edit’ button by observations you’ve created (1). For observation created by the setting you will only see the cog icon (2).

 

 

To edit your observation you’ll first need to select the ‘Edit’ button which will take you to the following screen. Here you can edit the title, date and/or time of the observation and the main body of the text for the observation (1).

 

 

You can also edit or delete any media you’ve added (1).

If you’d like to delete media in bulk then you can use the ‘Select All’ or box next to each media item to individually select them (2). Then click on the ‘Deleted Selected Media’ button (3).

You can also add any media to an observation (4).

You can delete any links to observations that you yourself have made (5), and you can add new links to observations or activities, if the Activities feature is used at your child's setting and if relatives have access to this (6).

Once you’re happy with your edits you’ll just need to click on the Save button at the bottom, or top, of the page (7).

 

 

Once you have edited the observation, to edit any comments you have made, you need to select the observation from the observation page (1) which will take you to the view observation screen by clicking the title of the observation (2).

 

 

You can view, edit (1) and delete (2) comments you have made from this screen and also add new comments (3).

 

When you select select 'Edit' you will be give the chance to amend your comment (1), and press 'Save' (2), to save the changes you made. You can use the 'Undo' button to not save the changes (3) and leave the comment as it was.
