Hi and welcome Ann,
In my experience the presentation ( is this what you mean by layout) of your work should not be the issue. Many people present their knowledge in different ways. The important thing is to cover all the criteria. There is a feature on NVQs and I hope Steve will be along to link you to it.
If you want advice on specific criteria it may be useful to write the whole question for people who have experience and knowledge in the early years but do not have access to the NVQ literature / work your tutor/assessor has given you.

As Peggy has said - the important thing is the menu's rather than the actual layout, although if it is neat and clearly written it will make it easier to read and assess. Were you given any guidance on the sorts of menus you need?
