Happy new year to everyone. My topic this term is experiencing patterns. I have decided to focus on the artist Matisse who uses a lot of fanciful patterns in his work. I would be grateful if anyone could give me some more ideas. Thanks.

Hi we are looking at Robert Burns this term 25th Jan and obviously Burns night covering different traditions,foods etc but also covering while doing Scotland, Tarten bringing in differnet patterns dont know if you could bring this in somewhere

Our yr1 children did some fantastic work using Snail by Matisse as inspiration for their own animals using tissue paper shapes. You can find his art here

The 'Earth from the Air' exhibiton had loads of environmental pictures that have amazing patterns - I bought 2 copies of the book!

I didn't look at the examples before I posted and I'm afraid not many of them are patterned - they are doing a picture of the week too so you might find different examples there. Amazon have a copy of 'Earth from the Air for Children' - might be worth a look at here.
