just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to assess for stepping stone 8 in all three of the mathematical development area. "Uses developing mathematical ideas & methods to solve practical problems."
Not sure how to set up a problem for the children. any suggestions welcome!

Have you got time to but a publication?? If so, BEAM Education do a very good folder of ideas called "Starting Out - Foundation Stage Mathematics" which gives lots of ideas for practical activities, under headings for each of the stepping stones. I recommend it!
