Hi everyone.
We hope you’ve had a lovely November.
Care Diary on Android
This Month we are very excited to announce our first iteration of the Care Diary on the app.
The Care Diary is now available to all staff who use the most recent version of the Tapestry Android or Amazon Fire app. You will now be able to add, view, edit, and approve Care Diary and Accident entries. As you can on the browser, you’ll be able to make individual or group entries (with tweaks for specific children as needed), and collect signatures for accident forms.
If you are an iOS user or a relative, app versions of the Care Diary are still actively being worked on for you. If you would like to be notified via email when these are available, please email our customer service team on customer.service@eyfs.info and they will be happy to keep you up to date.
New articles
We have a new article on the Tapestry site this month: "Supporting parents and carers of children with EAL” by Sejal Payne.
In this article Sejal explores the difference between involvement and engagement, discusses the numerous barriers that parents and carers could face and provides some experience-backed strategies to help support you and your community's families.
Printed Register Enhancements
We’ve made some improvements to the printed register within the Booking feature.
In response to lots of great feedback from our users, you can now: generate weekly registers as well as daily ones; include specific times of the session(s) children are booked in for; include children’s date of birth, booking notes (for daily registers only) and additional blank rows for unexpected children; and finally, some additional options to how you sort the children on the list and some additional “layout options” have been added. Hopefully these changes mean you can get the most out of the printed registers on Tapestry!
Memos for Enrolling Children
One small “quality of life” improvement we have made is you can now use the Memos feature with Enrolling children. This should help make and maintain those initial links with parents via Tapestry before you are ready to fully activate the new children.
New Infographic
There’s a new addition to our growing infographic library.
“Using Tapestry to Support Your Processes in Preparation for Ofsted” is written to help you reflect on how you are using Tapestry. Hopefully it will help to guide you in using Tapestry in the most effective way on a day-to-day basis, but especially when preparing for a visit!
New CPD Course
The popular “The First Year” course on Tapestry CPD has been updated with its third and final module.
Module 3 focusses on Social and Emotional Development: learn how babies develop socially and emotionally, and what to typically expect for a new-born and at months one, three, six, nine and twelve. During this module you can expect 3 tasks, a suggested article and a short quiz to finish. Successful completion also gets you a certificate! This course has been made in collaboration with Siren Films and Layton Sixth Form College.
You can access this course, and others, by clicking “CPD” in the top task bar of your Tapestry account or via this link.
