The system will allow users to easily record and track children’s progress from years 1-6, creating a seamless learning journal and progress monitoring service from EYFS to the end of KS2 at no additional cost (other than the increase in child numbers). Quickly assess individual children, groups within classes or whole classes, using our tier arrangement, customisable to fit your existing school set up. Assessments can be added via observations or directly into the formative assessment screen.

This new assessment method isn't available on the app version of Tapestry yet but it will be added before the new academic year. We are also working on adding an analysis section for it, and you can read about our plans for this here. Those of you who are long term Tapestry customers will know that we like to introduce new features and then rapidly add to them in line with suggestions and feedback from weavers!

If you are running iOS 7, please upgrade your device to a new version of iOS. Apple do not charge for the upgrade and provide instructions here: https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204204

You can find out if your device is running iOS 7 by opening the 'Settings' app, going to 'General' then to 'About' and looking for 'Version'. If the first number is 7, then you are running iOS 7 and will need to upgrade.

The iPhone 4 (which was launched six years ago) is the only device we are aware of that cannot be upgraded from iOS 7. The app will continue to work on those phones for a while, but it will not receive any updates.

We are ending our support because Apple stopped supporting iOS 7 in September 2014 and so, over the past two years, it has become increasingly hard for us to test our application on that operating system. Apple also made substantial changes to the way their software works in iOS 8, which means the changes we make to the code can't be guaranteed to be compatible with iOS 7.

then tick the children you want to generate PDFs for.
A popup should appear on the bottom right of the screen starting
"With X children Export...",
Click on the "Export" button on that popup and choose "Export Journals as PDFs",
then click "Go".

As this is likely to be a very popular new feature, it would be wise not to leave it until the
last day of term and then try to generate 50 journals!

We believe that we have restored all the missing pictures and videos from our backups. If something is missing, please email us. Please accept our apologies again.

A server crashed early on Saturday morning. This means that many observations are missing pictures and videos. We are 60% of the way through restoring them from our backups.

This is the first time this has happened to us, and we are very sorry for the problems this causes.

When will the pictures and videos be back?

They are back for some people now and should be back for everybody by the end of the week. You can follow our progress here.

Has any data been lost permanently?

Some pictures and videos added on Friday may be lost. We will confirm this once the backup restoration is complete.

Has any data been made public?

No.

Were any of the observations lost?

No. All the notes and assessments were unaffected.

Is anything else impacted?

Yes. You can't generate pdf journals at the moment (because they link to pictures) and you can't edit logos or pictures of staff,

parents or children. We will turn this back on as soon as we have restored everybody's pictures and videos from our backups.

Were you hacked?

No.

Why did this happen then?

We have been working hard to not only understand what happened but also to prevent it from happening again.

At 2.48am on Saturday morning, one of our servers crashed. When it automatically rebooted, it didn't connect to one of our media servers correctly. The server attempted to automatically recover from this and in doing so, it started copying files in the wrong direction. This meant it overwrote some uploaded pictures and videos.

We have fixed the cause of the server crash, and the cause of it failing to connect to the media servers correctly.

We are restoring all the files from our backups, which will recover everything that was uploaded before Friday 5am.

Please accept our apologies for the data loss and inconvenience over the last few days.
