This course looks at safer recruitment practices in order to safeguard children. It considers the characteristics of sexual offenders and how they operate within organisations. It examines safer recruitment practices that help deter, reject or identify people who might abuse children, or who are otherwise unsuitable to work with them. It examines the key elements that contribute to an ongoing culture of vigilance.
This is a certificated course which is accredited by the Safer Recruitment Consortium.

Who should attend?

Lead Practitioners and managers of early years’ settings, governors and voluntary committee members, school staff and anyone who is recruiting people to work, or volunteer to work with children and young people.

Additional information

Delegates need to have attended Safeguarding Children and Young People Level 2 course and have knowledge of good recruitment practice. This course includes ongoing assessment throughout the day, which is conducted in pairs and small groups. You have to stay for the whole course in order to gain the Certificate of Attendance.
