Demonstrate to Ofsted how you evaluate the quality of practice in your setting.
Duration: Half day
Who should attend: Owners and Managers
What will I learn?
Earlier this year, Ofsted removed the requirement for settings to complete their written self-evaluation form.
However, self-evaluation continues to be an important aspect of the inspection process.
Although providers do not need to provide a written evaluation, they must be well prepared to discuss the quality of the learning environment, the activities they provide and how well they meet children’s needs.
They must also be able to discuss how they evaluate it. Inspectors will use this information during inspection to check that providers really understand the quality of their setting and what needs to improve.
The aim of this session is to help providers reflect on the effectiveness of their current system of critical evaluation and consider ways to make it even better.
Workshop key topics
- The purpose of critical evaluation
- Innovative ideas for gathering evidence
- Involving children, parents, staff and other professionals
- Setting realistic and achievable targets for improvement
- Confidently celebrating successes and achievements
