Tapestry

speeding up mobile app use

Hello,

I think this issue may affect settings with a lot of children on the system. We are a large nursery school with the potential for 200 children on roll. We have found it very time consuming to scroll down the list of children when you need to tag them and sometimes, as we do that, other children are added by mistake. It would be very useful to have an option of starting to type the name and Tapestry then giving you options as with predictive text or similar. There could be a drop down that has a list of possibilities to chooses from. This would help us so much and save the wrong children from being added.

Thank you

Hello Womble,

Have you grouped your children according to the ones that you want to be able to see? In large nurseries and schools teachers usually group the children who are in the same room into one keyperson group and then allocate all the staff to them as keyperson. Then, on the browser, each member of staff changes their settings to see only key children - this will carry through to the app when they log themselves in. Then you won't have to scroll through every child in the package, which I can see is very time consuming. If you want also to be able to see their 'actual' keyperson group when you are looking at analysis you can then add a manual group (in the control panel) and call it something like 'Tracy's key children' and then you will be able to use that group as a filter when you are analysing your data.

Hope that helps! If you are still having trouble, let us know!
